Wetsuits and spandex
My inaugural blog post was a quick story about my beginning short-distance triathlon racing at age 50 which turned into longer distance racing and then adding surfing at age 57 into the higher performing sports activities into my life.
I launched Tri2Surf about three years ago as a means to introduce surfing to my triathlon community and triathons to my surfing community. I love doing them both and my communities were so awesome. Why not connect each other so they can have life-altering experiences like I did. And equally important, my vision was to bring these communities together so we could connect and collaborate in our ways to address ageism head on.
Fast forward to present moment — I realize the Tri2Surf name is misleading as it is a play on words and and doesn’t represent being positive -the ‘Tri’ is as if we’re trying to do something and does not represent adequately our badass-ness (for lack of a better word) in that we are Triathletes - Tri/Triathletes, get it? Not everyone did, which I completely see that now.
I’m here to share that my business name is now Ageless Adventures.
Ageless Adventures’ mission is to create a space for women ages 50+ where empathy, growth, repair and connection flourish while doing active things.
Where fun, adventure and play is the norm and not an afterthought. Where we are in a supportive community that embraces our age in all of its challenges, glory and beauty.
Where we show this ageist society we will no longer tolerate being subjecte to its stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination based on our age and gender.
And where we redefine what it means to be ‘our age’, with joy and freedom and reclaim our power and passion.
